It's a lot to take in

Yesterday, we talked about planets and stars, because he asked where the Earth came from. And so I talked about the Big Bang, and swirling clouds of gas, and the rotation of the heavenly bodies. Just now:

Julius: "So, this whole house is moving?"

Daddy: "Yes, everything you see here, the trees outside, the house ... we're all moving. The whole Earth is spinning like this," and I made some hand gestures, "and we're going around the Sun like this, and the Sun and all the planets are moving around the center of the galaxy like this, and the whole galaxy is moving through the Universe."

A pause, and then he said with an amazed, incredulous voice, "Jeee-sus."

Any Answer Will Do

Over breakfast this morning, Julius was exceptionally inquisitive, including this exchange:

Julius: "How did God make the world if he's nowhere around?"
Daddy: "I don't think there's a good answer for that."
Julius: "Well, do you have any not-so-good answers?"
