Bring the Boys (& Girls) Back Home

First roasted marshmallow. Sadly, a momentary lapse of concentration allowed it to slip into the flames. But the second one was tasty.

Fog!

John and Julius are amazed that the fog found us up here. And how! There was so much condensation falling out of the trees that it felt like it was raining all night.

New Bike

We returned the trike that we had been borrowing from a friend, and she surprised us by lending us this cool, wooden scooter-bike. It doesn't have pedals or training wheels. Juju loves pushing it around, and he can stop to smell the flowers any time he wants. Eventually, he should be able to push himself fast enough to lift his feet off the ground and coast, but for now, we max out at a leisurely crawl.

A visit from Gram Carol capped a fun weekend at Lake Tahoe with Nana and Papa.

Feeding the birds, and sampling liberally from the cracker supply.

It didn't take much convincing when Nana offered to share her Mothers' Day chocolates.

Nana and Papa showered Julius with presents, including this garbage truck, which rolls onto Papa's hand nicely.

Papa throws sand into the water. Some kind of role model, I guess.

Lunch ... mostly fries ... with the Tahoe Queen in the background.

Lunch at the new Fremont Bistro (formerly Dory's Oar). Nana's smile makes up for Julius's lack.

Papa shows Juju how to make a ramp out of a legal pad. And, yes, the shirt says "It seemed like a good idea at the time." Gotta love it.

Company's comin' for dinner. Julius carefully explained to Poppy that her bowl had tofu and green beans, "OK?" He talks about Poppy and Azu a lot these days.
